in the voice of god
it is that- it was not the voice of god !!!!
abraham fails to disambiguate his voice from god’s voice
the voice of his ancient trauma is heard by him as the voice of god…
it is to hear God’s voice clearly – to disambiguate the God voice – that we are called in our
Journey
this is the drama of the text
even though it says
God spoke to Abraham…
it does not mean God spoke to Abraham
It means Abraham heard a voice which he wrongly identified as the God voice
how often do we send our sons to be Killed in War convinced we are responding to a God voice.
sometimes we are …often we are not
all of spiritual development, growth, depth and holiness is in knowing the difference.
