A Witness to Sadness: Marc Gafni
It is morning and I am overwhelmed. By the radical pain and injustice of the world we live in. The idea that it “all works out” in our world is a New Age lie. Pure and Simple. I am overwhelmed at the willingness of seemingly good people to engage in levels of deceit, mean-ness and corruption that I never thought imaginable. By the mask of spirituality which some wear, by people’s inability to own their genuine mistakes, to think with nuance and not in platitudes…
My heart – with the prophet Isaiah, end of chapter one, cries out in pain.
I am overwhelmed at the same time – with gratitude for the full infinite wonder and beauty of the world. By how right everything is – in so many ways. By the integrity of the courageous ones, by the goodness of those shining souls who leave behind laziness in all of it’s forms, who give up being right, and live and love and act with open hearts. My heart with the psalmist {chapter eight} sings in praise.
Am I a dualist?
I think not.
