The Three Faces
Biblical Myth consciousness teaches us that we have three faces. The first face is the social Me which we described in the last blog; this is called in the Zohar the “revealed world.” This is the formal, functional, socially accepted face of you. It is the you with which you attempt to successfully navigate your public reality. The second me, the primal raging of the sub-conscious, also described in last blog. This is called the “hidden world.” This is the world which people like Frued, Kinsey, Hobbes and Rush Limbaugh describe as the real you. Neither is my truest face.
My truest face is my third face what the Kabbalists call Umka De Umka- the deepest of the deep! In the language of Abraham Kuk, 20th century mystical philosopher in a fragment of his writing only recently published {bout 15 years ago},
“The truth of my essence reveals itself in my moments of greatness.”
THE TRUTH OF MY ESSENCE REVEALS ITSELF IN MY MOMENTS OF GREATNESS.
WOW!!!!
It is those moments of greatness which set the standard that defines you, that are you. Who you really are is you at your best. It his those moments which are you God, You Self, Your Brahman, Budhdha, Tao, Ultimate Reality, Divnity, Mystery, Shekinah, Highest principle, Infinite Good…
